The research Quality Assurance (QA) system monitors departmental research activities and their reporting.

It is promoted by the Department's Research Committee, chaired by the Deputy Head for Research. The Research Committee is a temporary working group that promotes the Department's research and scientific production activities, fostering improvement and monitoring effectiveness. The Committee is set up by resolution of the Department Board and is composed of at least 6 members. Its members, with a proven aptitude for research, are appointed by the Department Board on the proposal of the Department Head, with a view to gender, functional and academic representation.

The Research Committee provides opinions and guidance to be submitted to the Department Board for discussion and approval.

The Committee complies with confidentiality and conflict-of-interest requirements. That is why, in certain cases, some members are not allowed to vote or access the Committee's work. The Committee's work is aimed at fostering resource management processes based on transparency and merit.
